A Recycling Education

The Higher the Recovery Rate,

The Greener The Planet

At each of our operations, Allocco is committed to achieving the highest material recovery rates possible to reduce unnecessary waste streams and protect our planet’s ecosystems. This is why we’ve invested in advanced technologies that single us out among other recyclers. We have state-of-the-art equipment that helps us sort, process and recover down to the 2-inch minus materials found at the bottom of the dumpster. No matter the size or category, if it’s salvageable material, Allocco will recover it. And when we do, here’s a brief look at how it can be recycled for sustainable reuse – which, of course, eliminates the energy costs of producing new materials from scratch.

METALS

Virtually all ferrous and non-ferrous materials, such as iron, steel, brass copper, aluminum – in other words, structural members, piping, fasteners, steel studding, siding, wiring, ductwork and sheet metal – on average, these materials can all be recycled 100% and repurposed to produce all manner of metal goods.

WOODS

Wood products of all types can be recycled into mulch, animal bedding & biomass energy.

CARDBOARD

Clean, corrugated cardboard and can be used to reproduce packaging materials.

ASPHALT

Asphalt roofing shingles are used to produce asphalt road mix.

CONCRETE

Concrete, rock, brick, block products are recycled into the crushed aggregate used for making roads, driveways and parking lots.

PLASTICS

Virtually all plastics can be recovered and repurposed into new plastic products and materials, avoiding their disposal into landfills where they can take up to 1,000 years to degrade fully.

The less that goes to waste, the less that goes to landfills – and at Allocco, this is the ultimate goal. Advanced technology for a greener tomorrow.
